David Richey, CFP®, ChFC, CRPC™
Wealth Management Advisor
David has been helping clients with their investment and insurance needs for thirty years. He believes that preparing for all aspects of one’s financial well-being is important. In addition to pure investments, various forms of insurance (Life, Long Term Care and Annuities) can be just as important to bring balance and confidence. He enjoys helping clients prepare for whatever life brings. His focus for the last decade has been on retirement income and protection planning. Before joining NewWest Advisors in 2016, he held the title of Vice President – Wealth Management at a local credit union for eighteen years.
Prior to entering the world of financial services in 1986, David taught full-time Latin at a high school founded in 1799. During that time, he had an opportunity to live in Rome briefly and study under Pope John Paul II’s Latin secretary. This was a unique experience of which he still has many fond memories. He also co-authored the teaching curriculum for Latin in the state of Georgia. Drawing on his teaching experience, David can explain sometimes difficult financial concepts in layman’s terms.
He enjoys many outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and skiing. He also loves spending time with his kids and grandkids watching them play sports, helping with homework, and taking family vacations together.
David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant, and a CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELOR™. He also holds Life, Accident, Variable and Health insurance licenses.
